WW2 Workshop in P4 βοΈ
Our P4 class had an amazing day at the WW2 workshop - A massive thank you to Rita and The Active Learning Company for such a first hand, real life experience of life during WW2 π
βοΈFirst up was our evacuation labels, once everyone had filled them in we were evacuated to the hall for a day of fun filled activities
π¨π»βοΈP4 dressed up as Soldiers, Navy seals, civilians and evacuees
π²No toys were produced during WW2 as the factories were needed to make weapons. Children entertained themselves by playing shadow games on the walls of their houses. Today P4 played shadows making dogs, wolves, parrots and many more! We also got the chance to play with some toys from the days of WW2. We played marbles, dominoes, snakes and ladders and many more!
βοΈWe all were so interested to hear about the different weapons the Armies used. We even got to hold some of them!
π Everyone was given the challenge of colouring the Allies, Axis and neutral countries on a map of Europe.
π§π»βοΈπ§π»P4 were put through some military training - they practised their Army crawl under an obstacle course!
π―The next task was to look at a selection of photos and match them to the name of the item. We found a chamber pot, a wash board, candlesticks and an abacus!
βFinally we used secret code used during WW2 to write a secret message “meet us at the barn”
A fantastic day all around π€©ππ
