St Colman’s was delighted to receive the 2024 Down and Connor Spirit of Catholic Education award on Wednesday 24th February during Catholic Schools Week. The school received the award at St Mary’s University College Belfast and were represented by Mrs White, Mr Colgan, Adriana Titova and Kimberley Kearney. St Colman’s was chosen out of 160 schools within the diocese for its efforts in spreading the message of Pope Francis, “to care and look after our common home.” St Colman’s has had a very dedicated and hard working ECO Council, Litter Team, Energy Savers Team and Garden Gang over these last number of years which have all contributed significantly in looking after and improving our own school environment by tackling and combatting key environmental issues such as litter, waste and biodiversity. Well done to all the children, staff, parents and outside community groups who were involved in helping the school achieve ECO Green Flag status and the School Pollinator Grant which has now resulted in St Colman’s being recognised with the Spirit of Catholic Education Award for 2024.
