🌳P2 Pupils Explore Position Words Through School Adventures🌳

30th Apr 2026

Our Primary 2 children have been busy exploring position words through fun and engaging learning both in the classroom and during Forest School sessions.

As part of their numeracy work this week, they have been developing their understanding of positional language such as under, over, beside, behind and in front of. In class, the children took part in practical activities using toys, counters and classroom objects to describe and follow instructions.
They really enjoyed giving directions to their friends and creating their own positional challenges.

Learning was brought to life even further during Forest School, where the outdoor environment provided the perfect space for active, hands-on exploration during this wonderful sunny weather. The children used natural materials and outdoor equipment to practise their position words, for example placing objects under logs, standing behind trees and jumping over small obstacles. They also worked together to follow positional instructions, building their teamwork and communication skills.

It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged, using their new vocabulary confidently in both indoor and outdoor settings. Well done, P2!
