Our P1-derful Little Stars ⭐
It is hard to believe that our Primary 1 children have only been in school for three weeks. The boys and girls have settled so well that it feels like they have always been here! We are so proud of how quickly they have adapted to our routines and embraced life in St. Colman’s.
Each day is full of learning, laughter and new adventures. The children are already following our rules beautifully, showing kindness, patience and friendship in everything they do. Through turn-taking games, sharing and waiting their turn, they are building important skills that help us all feel part of our school family.
Our boys and girls are enjoying number games, tracing, fine motor activities and exploring arts and crafts. They have been busy in all of our play areas, learning through play and showing such independence at lunch and dinner times too. Story time is a very special part of our day and we have loved books such as The Day the Crayons Quit, The Colour Monster and stories all about starting school. Some of these stories have helped us talk about feelings, kindness and what it means to be part of a class family.
We are also having fun with our phonics, rhyming, syllable awareness and favourite nursery rhymes like Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle and Jack and Jill. Hot-seating activities and the Zones of Regulation are helping us to explore our emotions and build confidence when talking in front of our friends.
We love how proud the children are of their new school uniform. They wear it so smartly and with such pride. Most importantly, we love how each child has brought their own unique personality to P1. They are a wonderful class and we are so excited for the year ahead together.
We love them all very much. Our P1s truly are a special part of our St. Colman’s family. 💙
