Maths Week in P5
Primary 5 had an amazing time celebrating Maths Week with lots of exciting activities that helped us see just how fun and surprising maths can be. We began the week by heading outdoors to explore maths in nature. We looked closely at leaves, flowers, trees, and even tiny details on the ground. We spotted patterns, symmetry, shapes, and numbers all around us. It was incredible to discover that maths is not just something we do in class—it’s everywhere in the world!
We also had great fun playing place value games using UNO cards. Working in pairs and groups, we used the cards to build the biggest and smallest numbers we could. We had to decide carefully which digits to place in the tens, hundreds, thousands, and even ten-thousands columns. There were lots of giggles, friendly competition, and fantastic teamwork.
Another highlight of the week was playing maths games using ICT. We used iPads and laptops to solve puzzles, practise number skills, and challenge ourselves with quick-fire maths games. The class loved seeing how technology can make learning even more exciting.
Primary 5 showed brilliant problem-solving skills all week and proved that maths can be creative, playful, and full of adventure. Well done, everyone! 🧮🍃✨
