Little Learners, Big Buddies!
Primary 1 were delighted to welcome the fantastic Year 10 Child Development and Year 11 Child Care students from St Louis Grammar School to work with us as part of our Forest Schools project. This annual collaboration is something we look forward to every year and it certainly didn’t disappoint! 🍃
In the weeks leading up to the visit, the St Louis students worked closely with the P1 teachers to find out what our children were learning and what resources would best support their development, particularly in early number, phonics and multisensory outdoor learning. The activities they created were thoughtful, creative and perfectly pitched to meet our children’s needs.
The session supported all areas of development:
🌱 Social skills – through shared play and teamwork
🏃 Physical development – with active outdoor exploration
🧠 Cognitive growth – through nature-inspired learning opportunities
💛 Emotional wellbeing – as the children grew in confidence and joy
A huge thank you to the students and staff from St Louis as your kindness, planning and enthusiasm made this a truly memorable morning. We are so grateful for your support and can’t wait to do it all again next year!
