Forest school πΏ
Primary 2/3 are loving Forest school!
During our second Forest School session, the children combined numeracy and outdoor learning by exploring tally charts. We began by talking about what a tally chart is and how it can help us count and record information.
The children then divided into small groups and went off to search for different natural items such as leaves, sticks, stones and flowers. As they discovered each item, they recorded their findings using tally marks, creating their own tally charts.
Back together, we looked at our charts and talked about which items we found the most and the least of. It was a great way to practice our numeracy skills while enjoying the outdoors and exploring nature. πΏπ
