Primary 2 have been busy bees 🐝
In literacy we have been reading lots of stories, we particularly loved the owl babies and Meg and Mog. We had great fun retelling the story of the owl babies using pictures. We used speech bubbles to highlight the words that were spoken in the story as well as learning about the life cycle of an owl.
In numeracy we have been doing lots of work on counting and recognising our numbers up to 20. We especially love to sing when we are counting. We have been looking at 2d shapes and what makes them special. We are learning about money and have been using 1p to make different amounts.
In World around us we started a new topic ‘celebrations and festivals’. We started this topic by reading Kippers birthday. We used this story to help us gather ideas on how we celebrate our birthdays, we wrote out invitations and we even got to make mug cake because all party’s have to have cake. It was delicious.
