This week, our P3/4 pupils were delighted to welcome local author Declan Carville to school for a very special storytelling session. What an inspiring morning we had!
We asked Declan lots of brilliant questions, and he shared some of his well‑known stories with us. One of our favourites was The Magic Harp, especially the part where Fergal meets a magical lady and makes his wish to travel all the way to the moon! 🌙🎶
Declan also showed us beautiful photographs from the Fairy Glen, and the children were amazed to spot what looked like real signs of fairies hidden in the pictures! 🧚✨ Their imaginations were certainly sparked!
Inspired by Declan’s visit, the boys and girls have already begun writing and illustrating their very own sequel to The Magic Harpduring literacy time. Their new story is called Fergal’s Second Wish, and we can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them! 🎨✏️📖
