🐛🐝🐞 Forest School Fun in P1/2 - Exploring Minibeasts 🐞🐛🐝
Our latest Forest School session was a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore their World Around Us topic—Minibeasts—in a hands-on and exciting way.
The pupils enjoyed searching for and naming a range of minibeasts they found outdoors, from wriggly worms to buzzing bees! Using their discoveries, the children worked together to create a Venn diagram sorting the creatures into those with wings and those without. It was a brilliant way to develop early numeracy skills of sorting and classification skills while having fun in nature.
To bring our learning to life even more, we added movement to our session by pretending to be different insects. There was lots of crawling, fluttering, and buzzing as we moved like minibeasts through the sunny quadrangle!
Well done to all the young explorers for their enthusiasm and curiosity—what a super session! 🐞🐛🐝
