Our Primary 2 class enjoyed learning about the story of St Brigid’s Cloak as part of our celebration of St Brigid’s Feast Day.
The children listened carefully to the traditional story of how St Brigid used her cloak to show kindness, generosity and fairness and were FASCINATED by how the cloak grew and grew. St Brigid not only built a church but she also made the mean king have a kind heart.
Next, they reflected on how we can show kindness in our own school community, linking St Brigid’s story to our everyday actions in the classroom and playground. The children also took part in creative and collaborative activities, including artwork inspired by St Brigid’s cloak and simple writing about what kindness means to them.
