Good morning Primary 7 boys and girls ☀️

Another sunny morning ☀️ We thank God this morning for so much. We pray to Him and to Our Lady to protect us all. This morning we have a special prayer for all of you in P7. ❤️

Tomorrow was to have been a very special day for you, your families and our school and parish communities - your Confirmation Day. During the Confirmation ceremony you would have received the fruits and gifts of the Holy Sprit, as you confirmed your faith and renewed your baptismal promises.

We are feeling the sadness as we are aware of how different our celebration will be tomorrow. We have no doubt that you and your families are disappointed and saddened at not getting to celebrate this sacrament as we had planned. We know that there will come a time when we will celebrate this special occasion but for now we must wait. But that does not mean that the day will pass unnoticed. While we wait there are some things that we can do to mark the day that would have been your Confirmation Day.

🕊 Your teachers have already begun these preparations by inviting you to upload a special photo of yourself. This can be a recent or a favourite photo taken some time this year. Send this photo to your teacher via google classroom before Wednesday 6th May. Your teachers will put together a video which you will be able to view on the website in a few days time.

🕊 Your teachers have also encouraged you to prepare a May altar at home. I have seen many of your altars when I visited your online classrooms on Friday. You have certainly created very prayerful and peaceful places in your homes that you can use to pray to Our Lady. Your teachers have also suggested that you could place your confirmation name or another symbol to mark this special time for you on your May altar.

🕊 Fr Cahill will offer up a special Mass tomorrow morning online, in St Joseph's Church, Ballymartin at 10am for all the P7 children, their families and school communities in the parish of Upper Mourne. You can tune in by clicking on this link: https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-josephs-church-ballymartin We would encourage you to join us in this Mass.

🕊 As a special treat there is NO online learning for P7 boys and girls on Monday and Tuesday. There will also be a shorter day for all the other classes on Monday to acknowledge this day and involve the whole school community.

🕊 We have shared some very meaningful Grow in Love videos to help you reflect on Confirmation. Take some time during this week to listen to the reflections and songs. Please click on the following links:

We ask you to share this news item with other boys and girls in your class.

We will most certainly be thinking of you boys and girls tomorrow. We will join you at Mass in the morning and say a special prayer for you. We all look forward to the time when we can come together and celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation with you all.

Enjoy your day tomorrow children. It is your special day.
