Primary 1's story this week is The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear. This story has lots of learning opportunities so we decided to learn about halves and also explore lots of strawberry flavoured foods.
Just like the mouse in the story, the boys and girls cut the strawberry in half to share. They learned that cutting something in half creates two pieces, both of which must be equal to make it fair. The children also had the opportunity to tastes strawberries as well as strawberry jelly and strawberry milkshake. We then counted to see how many children liked each food as we wanted to find out which was the most popular!
